Packet8 offers a hosted virtual PBX system for businesses along with one residential package as well. Alcatel provides communications solutions to telecommunication carriers, Internet service providers and enterprises for delivery of voice, data and video applications to their customers or employees.

Vonage is the current industry leader when it comes to residential VoIP providers. Standard features include: Voicemail, CallerID, Call Forwarding, Call Transfer, 3 Way Calling, Call Waiting and Speed Dialing. Packet8 offers an unlimited residential calling plan with one monthly price and unlimited calls within the U. S. and Canada. Lingo is another big name that offers a low cost, unlimited monthly plan to the U. S., Canada, and 17 countries in Western Europe. Cable VoIP Providers

Time Warner is perhaps the biggest name in cable VoIP providers with 10,000 subscribers being added every day. Cablevision is also one of the hot marketers of cable VoIP and is enrolling 1,000 subscribers per day in its program. Cox Communications, which is the nation's 11th largest telecommunications company, offering standard cable phone service has now jumped into the VoIP cable provider arena. Net2Phone has joined forces with Hughes Electronics to offer satellite VoIP services especially to remote and underserved areas around the globe, including phone-less areas of Africa. Vonage has also joined forces with satellite broadband service provider SkyFrames to go after a similar market.
